Application of Hot Melt Adhesive Machine in Cable and Optical Cable 

Hot melt glue machine is not only widely used in packaging industry, but also often used in some public equipment. Like some cables or optical cables, due to the long-term need for wind and sunshine, so its requirements need to have good waterproof and moisture-proof performance, to ensure the service performance and design life of cables and optical cables.

At present, the number of metal communication cables produced and used in China is the largest in the city. The conductive medium of communication cables in the city is copper conductor. Polyolefin material is extruded on the surface of copper conductor as insulating layer. The whole cable is sheathed with polyolefin material. Polyolefin material is a macromolecule material, the gap between the molecules of polyolefin is larger, and the diameter of water molecule is smaller, so polyolefin material can not prevent the infiltration of water molecule. The water proof and moisture proof capability of cable is very important. The moisture in cable will decrease the insulation resistance of cable core wire, and other electrical parameters will change. At the same time, it will cause corrosion of copper wire. Metal strips (aluminium strips or steel strips, etc.) are commonly used as moisture barriers in cable sheaths. Dry air or oil paste are filled in the metal strips to keep the core dry.

In the sheath process of cable production, people roll straight metal band into cylindrical shape through longitudinal wrapping die, so there is a lap joint. In order to increase the flexibility and lateral compression resistance of cable, people often roll metal strips. The overlap of rolled metal strip is difficult to fit perfectly, which will produce the same gap at the overlap, thus reducing the role of water-proof and moisture-proof of the metal strip; at the same time, the reduction of the contact area of the overlap metal strip will result in the reduction of the stripping force of the overlap joint of metal strip, resulting in the unqualified cable. In order to solve the above problems and ensure the proper service life of the cable, people often use hot melt glue to bond the lap joints of the metal belt, which requires the use of hot melt glue machine.
